Woodwork plans are great. Regardless of your experience level they will save you money, time and frustration. Have you ever tried to do a project all by yourself? When I say all by yourself, I mean exactly that. you're completely on your own, and you have no one to turn for advice when you have a problem or question. This is not very much fun, especially if you're new to woodworking.
All sorts of things can go wrong if you decide to schedule your project without. let's talk about some of them.
The first one on the list is wood. This might seem obvious, but it is often forgotten. You need to know what kind of wood to use, how much of that wood you'll need and how much it will cost you some wood is easier to work with than others, and not all types of wood working with each project. You would probably not go broke buying your material, so the price is very important.
The next problem you may face if you decide not to use plans is figuring out what tools you need for the project. Again, this comes down to experience. If you've worked with wood before, will know what tools to use is not a problem for you.
Tools can give you a real headache if you're new and inexperienced. as a rule of thumb, most small and simple wooden projects are carried out using master carpenter tools.Larger, more complex projects require usually special tools.
So you figured out all the wood situation, and you know what tools you need to do the job. The last problem you might encounter is measurements.
Measurements are very important, especially for the beginner. An experienced Carpenter could see the project in his or her thoughts, and be able to guess at the measurements for each part. Their guess probably would be pretty close, and the project fine. This is not the case if you are a beginner.
